Samantha needs heart surgery!

G Ma feeding Makaila! Since G Ma has been here we have been hand feeding the girls. I know the girls appreciate the extra TLC!

Hannah or is it Makaila? ha ha Really, this is Hannah!

Sandra, had a brady! Or should I say the monitor alarmed a brady. Even though it did not appear to look like a brady we had to start a new month count down.

Makaila talking to G Ma about what she wants the Easter Bunny to bring her!

This is a common occurrence after the 4 pm feed. For some reason, they are all usually fussy between the 4 pm and 8 pm feedings. Yes, I eat dinner some how this way to.

Oh wait this is after a 8 am feeding. Hum! Another fussy time. Yup, that is a lap top behind me trying to respond to e-mails and update blogs. Can you say multi task?

This is a big milestone for our blog; 100th post. Can you believe that? Anyways, Wednesday was Samantha's cardiology appointment. G Ma and Nancy watched the other three girls so that I can take Samantha. The appointment started off with vital signs then an EKG which she giggled through followed by chest X-rays that she hated. She didn't like to be stretched for them but she recovered quickly. Then we got to see the doctor. Once she heard Samantha's heart mur mur she said it was at least a Grade III and needed a echo gram TODAY! We had to wait a while but she got it done. She had to lay still on a big bed for it and she did awesome! I think she is going to be a couch potato. She literally laid there and watched Sponge Bob Square Pants. I was so proud of her though.
She then saw the doctor again. Samantha still has her PDA open and it is huge and causing a back flow of her blood. She also has a small hole in the upper part of her heart but the doctor is not concerned about that one now. Samantha needs to have heart surgery to close the PDA. They will implant a spring into her heart. The good news is that they do not have to open her chest and will do it all through the vein in her groin through a catheter. The procedure will last three hours and she will be in the hospital for two days. She has an appointment Wednesday with the surgeon to schedule the surgery. I know she is strong and will do great but knowing she has to have a general anesthetic and heart surgery just scares me. Plus, it is so close in time to Sandra's surgery I just don't want to have to see another of my children sedated again. But we will get through this as a family like we did for Sandra.
Last weekend Babies R Us had a sale on formula so we bought 90 containers. Right now, one container lasts just under two days. But only three are on this formula and we are continually increasing the amounts. We are hoping it will last a few months though. Today I ordered their quadruplet stroller. It should be here by the end of next week. I am very excited that I will be able to take them all on a walk by myself if I want while Daddy is at work. Yeah!
We are all enjoying the girls smiling and giggling. We are having fun with G Ma. It is really nice to have the extra hands around. We hope everyone is doing good.

I will be keeping all of you in my prayers. I will also pray that you do not have any repeat issues that you had with the previous surgery!
Take care,
Misty

It is sad to hear that Samantha needs surgery, but I am very glad to hear that it can be done thru guided surgery thru her groin. Still, will amp up the prayer requests for her and for you guys as well. I can remeber when their little arms were nothing, now look at them, little chunks! They look great!

Hey Sandra, what is with the brady!!! are you that attatched to that silly thing? I am sure mommy and dady will by you a play one, no more brady's, ok?

love aunt Deb
